Galaxy Digital, a subsidiary of Michael Novogratz, has announced that it has tokenized a 300-year-old Stradivarius violin owned by Animoca Brands co-founder Yat Siu, which, according to a statement, was made in 1708 and was worth about $9 million.
"Known for its unrivaled craftsmanship and long-standing provenance, the tokenisation of this tokenised instrument marks a significant advance in the application of blockchain technology to unlock the value of unique real-world assets," said Galaxy Digital. The statement added that Siu was using the tokenised violin "as collateral for the financing of Galaxy's Global Markets business".
