Report: Cryptocurrency losses due to hacking and fraud incidents decreased by 28% in May

According to Immunefi's latest report, cryptocurrency losses caused by hacking and fraud incidents in May were around $52.40 million, down 12% from the same period last year and 28% from April. Gala Games and Sonnefinance suffered the largest losses at $21 million and $20 million respectively, accounting for 80% of the total losses.
Year-to-date cryptocurrency losses totaled $473,229,944, significantly lower than the $595,438,324 recorded in the same period last year. All major attacks were focused on decentralized finance (Defi) platforms, with Ethereum and the BNB chain being the main targets.
