Sam Altman, chief executive of OpenAI, spoke via video on Thursday at the United Nations telecommunications agency's annual AI for Good conference on the societal prospects of how artificial intelligence technology can be harnessed. In an interview with Nicholas Thompson, chief executive of The Atlantic, Altman talked at length about topics related to artificial intelligence. But he sidestepped tough questions about corporate governance and criticism of ousted board members. In his first public comments on the controversy over OpenAI's use of an AI voice that resembles Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson, Altman emphasized that "it's not her voice".
