The Hong Kong Finance and Treasury Bureau said that since the "Policy Declaration", Hong Kong's virtual assets have made good progress in all aspects. The first batch of six virtual asset spot ETFs issued by three fund companies has received a positive response in the market. As of May 17, that is, just one month after listing, the daily trading volume of ETFs with ETFs has reached 6.40 million US dollars. The HKMA will continue to explore with market participants the further application of distributed ledger technology in capital markets. On the development of the digital Hong Kong dollar, the HKMA has launched the second phase of the "Digital Hong Kong Dollar" Pilot Scheme to further explore the innovative use cases of the "digital Hong Kong dollar" in Hong Kong and its three characteristics (programmability, tokenization and instant settlement). The HKMA will continue to explore the role of central bank digital currencies in future digital currency trends.
