Binance's French subsidiary has replaced co-founder Changpeng Zhao with two new shareholders, a move aimed at ensuring Binance does not lose its right to operate in the European Union's second-largest economy, a Binance spokesperson said. According to French regulations, a company's majority shareholder cannot be a criminal. The European Union's Crypto Asset Markets Regulation (MiCA) allows companies to "passport" their licenses from one base country to 27 other countries in the European Union.
