On-chain detective ZachXBT revealed that meme token CAT team @sol was linked to the hack that attacked trader GCR. Minutes before the hack, the addresses associated with them opened long positions on Hyperliquid for $2.30 million in ORDI and $1 million in ETHFI.
The @sol team took control of its own offering, controlling 63% of the supply, selling more than $5 million of CAT and then transferring the profits to multiple wallets. 6M54x received about 15,000 SOL ($2.50 million) from the CAT sale and began depositing funds into Kucoin (4,800 SOL) and MEXC (4,800 SOL and 1.40 million USDC) on May 25. Through time analysis, ZachXBT found that withdrawals of similar amounts were made on two exchanges on Ethereum and Arbitrum shortly after the Solana deposit.
