Recently, a community chat record revealed that a wallet containing 4,000 bitcoins had been cracked and recovered. This news may be fictitious.
After verification by Golden Finance, the wallet address starting with 18eY9 in the chat record does indeed have 4,000 bitcoins, and the 18eY9 address was transferred to 4,000 bitcoins on June 28, 2011. Since then, the BTC of the address has not been moved, and the address is currently ranked 410th on the Bitcoin Rich List.
Golden Finance investigation found that the walllet.dat file corresponding to this 18eY9 address was sold on the allprivatekeys website. In April 2020, a user posted a reminder on the well-known bitcoin forum bitcointalk not to buy the "walllet.dat" file with the lost password, including the walllet.dat file corresponding to the 18eY9 address. In addition, there are 176 wallet files for sale on the website, totaling 44,791 bitcoins.
