HashKey Capital: Plans to communicate with regulators on the feasibility of issuing Ethereum spot ETFs and pledged products in Hong Kong

Huang Yongxin, a partner of HashKey Capital, said that it is actively exploring the direction of Ether spot ETF and pledge, hoping to bring more investment methods to retail and institutional investors and release capital liquidity. She said that HashKey Capital will also communicate with regulators about the feasibility of product issuance in Hong Kong, and will be ready to provide the best product solution. According to an industry source, existing technology can already support pledge, but the main problem is the supervision of risk control, such as pledge interest preservation risk and liability. Bloomberg previously disclosed that the Hong Kong Securities Supervision Commission is considering allowing Ether spot ETF pledge (staking). After submitting plans in recent weeks, it has discussed with relevant ETF issuers to pledge through licensed platforms, but there is no clear timetable. If the Ethereum ETF pledge is approved, it may boost demand for Hong Kong's virtual currency ETF, once again leading the progress of the United States.
