Golden Ten Futures, May 24th, according to foreign media reports, a survey released by S & P Global shows that < b > the sugar production in the first half of May in the central and southern regions of Brazil totaled 2.70 million tons, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year . The increase in crushing volume is due to the good use of the crushing time, during which only 0.1 days were lost due to rainfall. The report said that during the first half of May, dry weather was generally observed, which may have promoted strong sugar production, thus supplying sugar to the global market earlier. If the dry weather persists, it may have an adverse impact on the sugar cane harvested in the second half of the crushing season, and may also lead to an early end of the crushing season. According to the survey, < b > sugarcane crushing volume in the first half of May is estimated to be between 41.40 million tons and 52.20 million tons , and the total average crushing volume is estimated to be 44.86 million tons, an increase of 0.7% year-on-year. The proportion used to produce sugar is expected to be 50.57%, up from 48.16% in the previous year. The remaining proportion is used to produce ethanol. Ethanol production in the first half of May is expected to be 1.97 billion liters, an increase of 1% year-on-year. The Brazilian Sugar Industry Association (Unica) will release data for the first half of May next week, but no specific date has been set.
