Markus Thielen, founder of 10x Research, said cryptocurrency trading volumes in South Korea were sometimes higher than those in the stock market. For example, in early March, cryptocurrency trading volume reached $16 billion, while Kospi's total trading volume was $8 billion. Shiba-Inu's trading volume was $3.50 billion, surpassing Samsung Electronics.
The analysis shows that South Koreans are significantly more inclined to invest in cryptocurrencies. This is related to the high yield potential of cryptocurrencies, a competitive labor market, and a high real estate market. In addition, many South Koreans grew up playing video games and making electronic payments, making it easier for them to accept cryptocurrencies.
