On May 21, cryptocurrency solutions company Ripple recently launched a local fund to support projects in Brazil that use the XRP blockchain XRP Ledger (XRPL) as a tool to enhance its capabilities.
Julia Heitner, manager of the XRPL grant program, said Brazil was the first country to implement this local initiative because of various factors that favor blockchain initiatives. These factors include "the country's advanced developer ecosystem, mature digital payment infrastructure, and forward-looking public policies regarding the tokenization of capital markets."
While the company doesn't specify the amount allocated to this pilot fund, projects that apply for XRPL grants typically receive between $10,000 and $200,000. The XRPL grant website makes it clear that awards of $100,000 and above are usually destined to be distributed to developers who have completed similar projects before.
