巴拉圭政府正在敦促立法者通过一项法案，对非法比特币矿工处以长达10年的监禁，以应对威胁国有国家电力管理局（ANDE）的大量窃电行为。该法案规定，巴拉圭警方和检察官可以没收和出售非法采矿设备，以保护国家电力管理局免受能源盗窃带来的巨大经济损失。在这次打击行动中，今年已有5000多台ASIC矿机被没收，而且立法势头也有可能导致该国暂时禁止比特币挖矿。
