香港金融界立法会议员陈振英表示，香港推出数字人民币服务，成为首个参与实际应用的离岸市场，运作稳定后可逐步推广至其他离岸市场，相信有助香港累积对加密货币的管理经验，未来在推出数码港元时更有把握。香港金管局表示，香港已是内地以外首个本地居民都能开立数字人民币钱包的地区。
