Before the U.S. House of Representatives voted on H.J. Res. 109, the overturning of the SEC's SAB 121 regulation on digital assets, President Biden threatened to use executive veto power if there was a resolution overturning SEC policy.
The White House said it "strongly opposes" attempts by House lawmakers to undermine the SEC's measures to "protect investors in crypto-asset markets and protect the broader financial system".
The SEC could also decide to revoke SAB 121 to avoid forcing Biden to decide whether to exercise veto power.
