On May 16th, Morgan Stanley disclosed in its 13F filing with the SEC in Q1 that it invested $269.90 million in a spot bitcoin ETF through grey release GBTC. According to Fintel data, this investment makes it one of the largest holders of GBTC after Susquehanna International Group (investing $1 billion).
Morgan Stanley is also one of a number of global systemically important banks (G-SIBs) that have disclosed investments in spot bitcoin ETFs, along with Royal Bank of Canada, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, BNP Paribas, and UBS.
