On May 16, Maker founder Rune Christensen posted on the X platform that as a complement to NewStable, to meet the needs of users who prefer a purely decentralized vision, Maker expects to launch another purely decentralized stablecoin, PureDai.
In the future, users who hold DAI will be able to upgrade the DAI to NewStable or PureDai. The conversion of NewStable is expected to be launched shortly, and PureDai is expected to be released in a few years.
PureDai will be a pure decentralized over-collateralized stablecoin (supporting ETH and stETH) that will only be deployed to the Ethereum mainnet, relying on a decentralized oracle to operate, with no governance or other budget. PureDai will be released in an immutable form, which means that the token will not require further upgrades or changes from the moment of release, and will be completely independent of Maker.
Rune added that PureDai will be used as a temporary name for the token until a new brand is identified.
Maker founder: PureDa, a stablecoin loyal to the original vision of the protocol, will be launched outside NewStable
