Baidu: Consider a possible partnership opportunity with Tesla on Robotaxi

On May 15th, Xu Baoqiang, general manager of Baidu's autonomous driving technology department, told reporters that for the Robotaxi (shared taxi) that Tesla will launch, Baidu will consider possible cooperation opportunities based on Tesla's specific application model and the pace of entering the Chinese market. Musk recently posted on the social media platform X that Tesla plans to launch a driverless taxi (robotaxi) on August 8, 2024. Tesla previously said that the next generation of car platforms will include lower-priced cars and fully autonomous taxis. On April 29, a source said that Tesla will use the advanced assisted driving map (Gaofu map) provided by Baidu Maps for the Chinese version of FSD (Full-Self Driving).
