According to the verdict, a Dutch court convicted 31-year-old Pertsev of laundering $1.20 billion through Tornado Cash. A three-judge panel sentenced Pertsev to five years and four months in prison. "The court finds it legally and factually proven that the suspect, in conjunction with others, laundered money through criminally obtained Ethereum and that he had become accustomed to such money laundering," the court said in its final conclusion. Meanwhile, the trial of Tornado Cash co-founder Roman Storm in the United States is scheduled to begin on September 23. Last year, U.S. prosecutors charged Storm and another co-founder, Roman Semenov, with conspiracy to launder money, conspiracy to violate sanctions, and conspiracy to operate an unlicensed money transfer business. Semenov was still at large at the time of the indictment.
