Tornado Cash developer Alexey Pertsev has been sentenced to 64 months in prison

On Tuesday, a Dutch judge found Alexey Pertsev, a developer of Tornado Cash, guilty of money laundering at the Schertogenbosch court. The court sentenced Pertsev64 months in prison. The developer was jailed in the Netherlands for the first time in August 2022 after it was blacklisted by the US government. At the time, the US Treasury claimed that Tornado Cash was a key tool for Lazarus, a North Korean hacking group. The Lazarus group was linked to a $625 million hack on Axie Infinity's Ronin Network, as well as other major cryptocurrency thefts.
