The number of new runes etched daily on Bitcoin has dropped below 250 over the past six days, with 157 runes etched on Monday, down 99% from the peak at the end of April. According to the Dune Analytics dashboard created by RUNES, an average of 14,700 new runes were etched daily between April 26 and 30, with a record 23,061 runes etched on April 26.
Since Runes launched on April 20, Bitcoin miners have been paid a total of $4.50 million in transaction fees, which is around $189 per day. To date, more than 91,200 runes have been inscribed on Bitcoin.
