On May 14th, zkSync Developers announced that it will release the beta version of zkSync Node, which has a simplified setup process and lower hardware requirements. The zkSync node is a read-only copy of the master node and can be run by anyone. This version will greatly improve the functionality of the developer experience, including one-line Docker setup, synchronization with the master node, and running on consumer hardware.
In addition, zkSync Developers said it is working on a trimming feature to reduce the storage space requirements of zkSync Node Beta. In the long run, it will allow zkSync Node to act as a sorter and validator as part of the decentralization effort.
