US stocks close: meme stocks surge, China index stocks rose 3.7%

U.S. stocks closed Monday, with the Dow initially down 80 points or 0.2 percent, the S & P 500 edging lower, and the Nasdaq up 0.29 percent. Tesla (TSLA. O) rose 2 percent, Game Station (GME. N) rose 74 percent, and AMC Cinema (AMC. N) rose 79 percent. The Nasdaq China Golden Dragon closed up 3.7 percent, Tencent Music (TME. N) rose 11 percent, Bilibili (BILI. O) rose 12 percent, and Alibaba (BABA. N) rose more than 5 percent.
