Fantom Foundation: Coming soon to Opera powered by Sonic technology

The Fantom Foundation says that as validators start upgrading this week, the new Opera is coming soon, with the upcoming Opera powered by Sonic technology. The upgrade is designed to improve the scalability of the network. The biggest change is the new storage system of the Opera chain, which is designed to reduce access time through file-based StateDB. For validators, it is possible to reduce storage requirements by more than 90%. In addition, the upgrade also includes optimizations and fine-tuning improvements to the Lachesis consensus mechanism.
