According to Bloomberg, Ghana's Parliament has approved the Cryptocurrency Legalization Bill, which aims to address the widening use of cryptocurrencies in the country but the lack of regulation. According to Bank of Ghana Governor Johnson Asiama, the newly passed Virtual Asset Service Providers Bill will facilitate the licensing of crypto platforms and the regulation of related activities.
Previously, the governor of the Central Bank of Ghana announced that cryptocurrency regulations will be introduced by the end of 2025.
