U.S. officials say some of the Epstein case documents were released to protect victims

Todd Blanche, deputy secretary of the Department of Justice, defended the Justice Department's decision to release only part of the documents in the Jeffrey Epstein case by a deadline set by Congress, saying the move was to protect Epstein victims. Blanche promised that the Trump administration would eventually fulfill its obligations under the law. But he stressed that the Justice Department has an obligation to exercise caution when releasing thousands of documents that may contain sensitive information.
