In response to the "50 million USDT phishing attack" incident, the Ethereum Community Foundation issued a response on the X platform, saying that the practice of using dots to truncate addresses (such as 0xbaf4b1aF... B6495F8b5) should be stopped immediately. The address information needs to be fully displayed, and hiding the middle part of the address will cause unnecessary risks. Not only that, there are also security issues in some UI options provided by some wallets and block browsers, which can actually be solved. It is reported that the phisher in this incident previously generated an address with the same 3 digits. After the victim did not carefully check the copied address, he transferred 50 million USDTs to a similar address generated by the phisher.
