ECB Governing Council member Eskriva said he saw no reason to adjust interest rates and expected monetary policy to remain stable for the foreseeable future. The ECB left its policy rate unchanged on Thursday and raised some of its growth and inflation forecasts, a move that could close the door to further rate cuts in the near future. Asked in an interview about possible next rate changes, Eskriva said: "We don't know, but we are open to any change in either direction if necessary, but at the moment we are comfortable with the current level of 2 per cent."
