SoftBank subsidiary Arm plans to launch AI chips in 2025

Arm, a subsidiary of SoftBank Group, is moving into the development of AI chips, setting up an AI chip unit with plans to launch the first products next year. The move is part of a Y10 trillion ($64 billion) push by Masayoshi Son, chief executive of SoftBank Group, to transform the group into an AI giant, and will also include investments in areas such as data centres and robotics.
