Caroline Ellison, former CEO of Alameda Research, was transferred from the Danbury Federal Correctional Facility in Connecticut to community custody on October 16 after serving about 11 months in prison. This means she is currently in home confinement or halfway house.
Ellison was previously sentenced to two years in prison for his involvement in Sam Bankman-Fried's fraud case and testified as a key witness at Bankman-Fried's trial. Federal Bureau of Prisons spokeswoman Randilee Giamusso said the specific community control location would not be disclosed for privacy, safety and security reasons. Ellison's expected release date is February 20, 2026.
