Bank of America survey: Kevin Hassett expected to lead the Federal Reserve

A majority of investors expect President Donald Trump to nominate White House economic adviser Kevin Hassett as the next Fed chairperson, according to a December survey of global fund managers by Bank of America. About 69 percent expect Hassett to be nominated, compared with just 4 percent who mentioned Fed governor Christopher Waller, and another 4 percent who expect former Fed governor Kevin Walsh. The survey was conducted before Trump told the media that he would prefer Hassett or Walsh to lead the Fed. The term of current Fed Chairperson Jerome Powell ends in May.
