BlackRock's latest view is that several megatrends are reshaping the global economy and markets, of which artificial intelligence (AI) is the most critical. The technology industry is moving from "asset light" to "highly capital intensive", and the speed and scale of AI infrastructure may reach an unprecedented level. Therefore, BlackRock maintains its risk appetite stance and continues to up the ante US stock under the AI theme.
BlackRock also cautioned that AI has the potential to spawn entirely new profit models and spread across industries and the economy as a whole. Likewise, the ultimate winner within the tech industry is not yet clear. While overall capital expenditure investment may bring positive results, it will not necessarily fall evenly on every company.
