On December 13, some media reported on Friday that Oracle (ORCL. N) will delay the construction of OpenAI-related data centers from 2027 to 2028 due to labor and material shortages, but Oracle later denied the report. Oracle spokesperson Michael Egbert said in an emailed statement: "Following the signing of the agreement, we worked closely with OpenAI to determine the site selection and delivery schedule and reached an agreement. There have been no delays in any sites required to fulfill contractual commitments and all milestones are on track." We remain fully aligned with OpenAI and are confident in our ability to meet contractual commitments and future expansion plans, "he added. Oracle (ORCL. N) shares recovered some of their losses after the response was released.
