Deutsche Bank: If Hassett insists on cutting interest rates, the dollar may be under pressure

Volkmar Baur of Commerzbank said in a report that the dollar could come under pressure if Hassett, the favourite to be the next Fed chair, persists in pushing for a rate cut regardless of economic fundamentals. Baur pointed out that the data show that the labor market is only slowly cooling, which does not support Hassett's view of rate cuts. He believes that Hassett may not give up on rate cuts because of the facts, and the dollar may pay a price for it.
