According to China News Weekly, some netizens recently encountered a lock card for noting "dog coins" when transferring money at China Construction Bank. The party involved, Ms. Yu, said that a few months ago, she and her husband transferred 250 yuan to each other through CCB, noting "dog coins of the week". Recently, the two received calls from CCB staff, saying that the remarks triggered "virtual currency control" and the account was set to "no payment" status.
CCB staff required to submit bank flow and a commitment letter to unblock, promising non-virtual currency transactions. A CCB branch staff in Dalian said that if the transfer postscript indicates "dog coin", materials need to be provided to prove that the remarks have nothing to do with virtual currency. But the problem is how to prove that if there is only bank flow, it cannot be used as a valid proof material, so such control accounts cannot be unblocked and can only be cancelled.
At present, Ms. Yu has submitted relevant materials to apply for lifting the restriction. Previously, on December 5, seven associations including the China Internet Finance Association jointly issued a risk warning, requiring them not to participate in virtual currency issuance and trading activities.
