On December 12th, the Arbitrum DAO is voting on a $1.50 million program designed to reward delegates for actively voting. The proposal was released on November 19th with the goal of reducing voter apathy and increasing active voting rights. According to the proposal, delegates need to meet the following conditions to receive the reward: hold at least 200,000 ARB voting rights, vote on the proposal, and publicly release the reason for voting within five days.
The award amount depends on the delegate's share of voting power, the type of proposal, and the remaining budget. Major on-chain votes can receive up to $700 each time, and small off-chain votes are capped at $300. As of the close of voting today, Snapshot data showed 55.8% support for the plan, 27.5% abstained, and 16.5% opposed. The program initially runs for one year, with the DAO Operations Committee tracking spending and managing the budget on a quarterly basis. If it ends early, the remaining funds will be returned.
