According to DL News, only one Bitcoin treasury company will outperform the S & P 500 in 2025. According to BitcoinTreasuries.net latest report, French firm The Blockchain Group is up about 164% this year, while the S & P 500 is up 16%.
Other major treasury companies performed poorly: Strategy fell 12%, Metaplanet shares fell nearly a third, and Nakamoto, a self-proclaimed "treasury of crypto treasury companies," plunged more than 98% after raising over $600 million. About 60% of bitcoin treasury company investments are currently in the red.
At present, Treasury buying activity has shrunk sharply, with only 28 companies buying bitcoin in November, down 83% from 168 in July. The premium on shares of companies such as Strategy has disappeared, and Strategy is now trading at a 16% discount to net asset value, while investors paid a seven-fold premium for the stock two years ago. Analysts say that "the era of premiums is over, only disciplined structures and real business execution can survive".
