According to Sandeep Nailwal, CEO of the Polygon Foundation, the recently completed Madhugiri hard fork upgrade of the Polygon network has increased the transaction processing capacity (TPS) on the chain by 40% to 1,400 transactions per second.
Sandeep Nailwal said the team has developed a clear technology roadmap to increase TPS to 5,000 transactions per second within the next 6 months, making Polygon one of the highest throughput blockchain networks in the industry. Additionally, the second phase of the upgrade is planned to further increase TPS to 100,000 transactions per second within 12-24 months, aiming to make it the preferred blockchain platform for global payments.
