Polygon has officially activated its latest network upgrade, the Madhugiri hard fork, designed to accelerate on-chain processing efficiency through performance optimization. This upgrade reduces the block time lag from 2 seconds to 1 second, resulting in faster transaction confirmations and an estimated 33% increase in overall throughput.
Madhugiri integrates several optimizations previously developed for the Ethereum Fusaka upgrade, including enhancements to the gas measurement method and execution flow, enabling the network to better handle higher-intensity computing loads. At the same time, the hard fork also introduces a new transaction type to further optimize the cross-chain interaction structure between Polygon and Ethereum.
