Hundreds of cryptocurrency wallets linked to the "Silk Road" that have been dormant for more than a decade came alive on Tuesday, transferring bitcoins to an unidentified address.
According to Arkham Intelligence, about 312 wallets linked to the now-defunct dark web marketplace Silk Road were collectively transferring $3.14 million worth of bitcoin to the address "bc1q... ga54". It is unclear why these wallets suddenly became active. As of now, wallets linked to Silk Road still hold about $41.30 million in bitcoin, according to Arkham.
