Slow Mist Cosine: Zcash doesn't enforce privacy by default, the design is more regulated than XMR

Slow Mist founder Cosine commented on "Arkham de-anonymizes more than half of Zcash (ZEC) transactions". A high proportion of Zcash transactions can be tracked, which is nothing new. When the concept of privacy coins was hot in the last cycle, Zcash was like this. It is not mandatory privacy by default, but users can choose. For example, the address z starts with strong privacy, and the address t starts with a transparent and traceable address. This design makes Zcash more regulated than Monero XMR (Monero), a privacy coin with strong privacy by default. The Zcash addresses on current mainstream platforms almost all start with t. It can be seen that the group that really cares about privacy is very, very small, and catering to regulation is the way out for the platform. Compared to the true hard-core Monero, Zcash's Privacy by Design balance is better, and the road may be wider.
