Bitwise CIO: Forecast that the crypto market will grow 10-20 times in the next decade

According to The Block, Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan said in his latest client briefing that the crypto market is on track to grow 10-20 times over the next decade. He quoted Securities Exchange Commission Chairperson Paul Atkins' prediction that all U.S. stocks will be on-chain "within a few years". The current U.S. stock market size is about $68 trillion, while on-chain tokenized stocks are only about $670 million, showing huge room for growth. Hougan believes that areas such as stablecoins, tokenization, and bitcoin will become more important, but with no certainty on which blockchain network will ultimately win, he advises investors to gain broad market exposure through market cap-weighted crypto index funds rather than betting on a single network.
