Tarek Mansour, CEO of prediction market platform Kalshi, said on the podcast that the rivalry with rival Polymarket has pushed both companies to work harder.
Mansour compared the rivalry between the two companies to the battle between NFL quarterbacks Tom Brady and Eli Manning, as well as football stars Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. "Without Polymarket, we wouldn't be pushing so hard on marketing and product development," he said. "This rivalry will push us to scale this industry to heights that would otherwise be unattainable, which is good for customers in the long run."
Kalshi, founded in 2018, last week announced partnerships with CNN and CNBC and closed a $1 billion funding round at a $11 billion valuation. Rival Polymarket, founded in 2020, was valued at $13.50 billion in November.
