Rolland Saf, CEO of UXLINK, has released a security incident review report, providing a comprehensive account of the asset theft incident that occurred and emphasizing that the incident was not caused internally by the project party.
According to reports, by disguising business partners and using deepfake video conferencing, the attackers broke into the personal devices of multiple SAFE authorized key holders within a few months, stole passwords, private keys and other sensitive information, and finally obtained control of the old arb-UXLINK smart contract. The hackers then illegally issued tokens, transferred and sold assets, with a total loss of more than 11 million US dollars. The incident occurred during the Korean Blockchain Week, and several core members were on the scene. The team reported to the exchange, cooperative security agencies and multinational law enforcement agencies in a short period of time, and confirmed that the attack came from external rather than internal actions.
