According to foreign media, under a new directive, US President Donald Trump's administration will direct agencies to cut jobs, close offices, and use artificial intelligence to improve government efficiency. A memo released by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) on Monday outlines these priorities, indicating that Trump plans to advance the work initiated by Musk's Department of Government Effectiveness. Many of the goals are not new. But by including them in the President's Management Agenda, Trump is asking the budget office to measure progress and hold agencies accountable. Trump's agenda is a sharp departure from previous documents, linking management functions to ideological goals. Specific measures include ending the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program, increasing the recruitment of border and immigration officials, and putting politically appointed officials in charge of appropriations.
