Eli Ben-Sasson, CEO of StarkWare and co-founder of Zcash, wrote on the X platform that in his first conversation with Michael Saylor, founder and executive chairperson of Strategy, he set out Starknet's mission to drive the bitcoin economy. In addition, another topic they discussed was privacy. Saylor believes that Bitcoin should not have privacy features, at least not with a privacy model similar to Zcash, because it would give sovereign states the reason to ban it. Ben-Sasson disagrees. Ben-Sasson believes that both can be balanced, that is, allowing access to keys while providing privacy protection.
They also exchanged views on OP_CAT. Saylor worries about changes being too much and too fast. But Ben-Sasson disagrees, arguing that OP_CAT has been debated and researched a lot, and ten years is enough time to delay for hundreds of years.
