On December 5th, on-chain detective ZachXBT revealed on a personal channel that British hacker Danny/Meech (also known as Danish Zulfiqar/Khan) is suspected to have been arrested by law enforcement agencies and his crypto assets have been seized.
He has been tracked down and locked down in connection with the August 2024 theft of $243 million crypto assets from Genesis creditors, including Malone, Veer, Chen and Jeandiel.
Danny was also involved in the August 2023 KrollSIM swapping attack, which leaked the personal information of BlockFi, Genesis, and FTX creditors. The resulting targeted social worker scam has since caused more than $300 million in losses.
A few hours ago, multiple addresses tracked by ZachXBT combined and transferred $18.58 million crypto assets to addresses starting with 0xb37d, in a pattern similar to previous law enforcement agency asset seizures.
