According to EigenPhi data, sandwich attacks on the Ethereum network in 2025 have cost users nearly $40 million. While the monthly trading volume of decentralized exchanges (DEXs) has soared from $65 billion to over $100 billion, the scale of attack profits has dropped significantly.
Monthly profits from sandwich attacks fell from about $10 million in late 2024 to just $2.50 million in October 2025, while the frequency of attacks remained high at 60,000 to 90,000 per month.
Most notable: 38% of attacks targeted low-volatility pools such as stablecoins and packaged assets, and 12% targeted stablecoin exchange pools - scenarios where slippage exceeds expectations and losses are particularly severe.
The average profit from a single sandwich attack is only $3, and only six attackers have accumulated more than $10,000 in 2025.
