The Government Accountability Office confirmed on Thursday that it had opened an investigation into Bill Poulter, the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, who has drawn ire over his attacks on Mr. Trump's opponents, according to the AXIOS website. "I can confirm that the Office has accepted requests for an investigation in accordance with standard processes," a spokesperson for the agency said. "It may take several months to determine the full scope of the investigation and the planned completion date." Mr. Poulter has also reportedly been involved in grand jury investigations this year related to multiple mortgage fraud investigations. As head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Mr. Poulter used the position to accuse rivals in the Trump administration of mortgage fraud. Mr. Pulte has been a critic of the Fed, regularly calling for Mr. Powell's resignation, accusing Governor Lisa Cook of mortgage fraud and making similar allegations against New York Attorney General James and Senator Schiff, Democrat of California.
