BlackRock CEO Larry Fink admitted at the New York Times DealBook Summit today that his previous opposition to bitcoin and cryptocurrencies was wrong. The moderator asked, "You called cryptocurrencies a tool for money laundering and thieves in 2017, and now BlackRock has the largest Bitcoin spot ETF, what happened?" Larry Fink responded, I have a clear opinion, but that doesn't mean I can't be wrong. After constant self-examination and meeting with thousands of customers and government leaders every year, my thought process has evolved and my perspective has changed dramatically. Now BlackRock is actively embracing Bitcoin.
