According to CoinDesk, Babylon has announced a partnership with decentralized lending protocol Aave to support native bitcoin as collateral in Aave V4, eliminating the need for packaging tokens or escrow intermediaries.
The partnership will combine Babylon's trustless vault with Aave's hub-and-spoke architecture, allowing users to deposit native BTC on the Bitcoin blockchain while lending assets such as stablecoins in the Aave market. Testing is expected to begin in early 2026, with a product launch scheduled for April.
Babylon co-founder David Tse said that even if 5% of the bitcoin supply went into lending agreements, the scale would far exceed the current market.
